Default New Overflow tank for coolant - Need help about sensor

So I did my research first and found that several people on the forum have had success with : Dorman 603-140 Front Engine Coolant Reservoir for Select Chevrolet Models

I'm getting the dread "low coolant" message on DIC. My Reservoir is pretty dingy. I cleaned it out as best as possible and I can hear something "rattling" in there so I think the float was stuck.
Seeing that the Reservoir price is not too bad, I'm think about buying a new one. However, when removing my old one, it looks like the sensor is not replaceable.
I tugged on it pretty good. Am I just being a wimp and need to tug harder ?
It doesn't look like the Doorman comes with a sensor. What am I missing?

Also... is there a low coolant sensor on the radiator too? One that looks like the ECT sensor?
Thanks
Todd

Well, hopefully you did not tug on it too hard, because there may be nothing wrong with it......and the level switch IS NOT serviceable. Back in the day, you had to replace the whole tank if the switch went bad.

The coolant level indicator switch was only used from 97-99. I'm fairly certain no one reproduces the tank with the switch but NOS ones show up on ebay from time to time.

How do you know the level switch is bad? Have you checked for 12v on the yellow/blk wire contact and a good ground(load tested) on the black wire contact? You can also ground the yellow/blk wire contact and the low coolant message should go away if all is working correctly.

No, there is not a temp sensor or switch for the radiator.
