Just had new tires and tpms sensors installed. Followed procedure for relearn. Sensors bought said they were compatible with my '02 c5. Procedure went flawlessly up until magnet was employed. No horn to indicate success. Any ideas or should I just take to tire shop and use scanner ? Ths for replies
It can be a bit tricky. The magnet used needs to be pretty strong and dounut shaped to fit around the valve stem. It can help to move the magnet in a small circular motion. Make sure that you're going in the correct order. IIRC it starts driver's side front and rotates clockwise around the car. The last time I had my TPMS swapped, the shop wasn't able to do it. However, I ordered a magnet specifically designed to do the job, and it worked on the first try. I believe it only cost me a few bucks.
You'll also want to try to get through the process fairly quickly. If you take too long, that can cause a problem as well. Hope this helps.
Sensors bought were/are pre-programmed to the car. Says relearn is all that's needed. Might be time for a quick trip to harbor freight for a cheap scanner or whatever they are called ? I'll play around with the magnet location / orientation first.
Played around with magnet orientation/location. No luck. No horn. Tire shop next. I'll keep ya'll posted. Seems to be a common issue. Tks for all the replies !!
I think more info is needed on which TPMS sensors were installed. Many (more modern?) sensors require a "trigger tool" such as OEC-T5 instead of a magnet. You can get one off Amazon for <$15, though tire shop may have one as well.

some sensors do not use a magnet. You need to follow the same procedure but instead of the magnet start letting air out of the tire until the horn blows. Then continue around the car

You need to determine if your sensors are the old style OEM type that are triggered by a magnet or the newer style that use a triggering device.
I have a 2000 but upgraded my TPMS and keyfob to the 01-04 module. Should work on later cars. I remember trying to use a speaker magnet which didn't work but this did.

Forgot to compliment the wheels on your C5. Looks great! That’s a sharp combination!
I used this and it worked perfectly: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XVR85N7

That same tool worked great on my '01 Z06 after I installed MORESENSOR TPMS sensors, but that's not what OP used. Did you use the same A-Premium part #APTPMS312 as OP?
I bought new front tires and sensors and a relearn tool for GM from Amazon for $9. I use the tool for the front tires and a magnet for the rear tires. I use the same cheap tool when I rotate the tires on my Cadillac.
