I noticed that my cigarette lighter that I normally plug my radar detector for power, was not working. Doing a little research, it appears the problem may be a blown fuse which should be located under the kick panel below the glove box. If that is the case, I need to know which fuse to replace. However, the drawings I found on the internet are not clear as to which fuse to pull. Are my assumptions correct, and if they are, can someone please point out the exact fuse to replace?
Same thing happened to me a few years ago. It was the fuse under the passenger kick panel. There should be a picture on the fuse box cover that will tell you which fuse to check.
Thanks. I had initially pulled #1 because it said console cigarette lighter. Then as Gorn Captain stated #7 states cigarette lighter. Any idea what is the difference between the two? It's also my understanding that if a fuse is bad the metal portion visible will be cut/discolored/bent. Both fuses looked fine to me. I'll go ahead and replace #7 as recommended which I assume you can buy from any auto parts store? Lastly, if the fuse replacement doesn't work any idea what may be the issue?
So I go to Auto Zone and buy a new fuse, plug it in and it still doesn't work. Recall that I had earlier stated the original fuse did not look like the metal portion within the plastic was broken. Any other ideas as to why the cigarette lighter is not working? The good news is that the auxillary console cigarette lighter still works so I can plug my radar detector into that.
Thanks. How easy would it be to remove the cigarette lighter? I noticed there is a screw to the left of the lighter. Hopefully removing that will give me access to the lighter. I hope it doesn't require me to take the console apart just to access. Any advice will be appreciated.

Yup, console and trim plate have be removed. Definitely make sure you have battery voltage on the line and load side of fuse #7 before taking everything apart.

Thanks for the suggestion but that sounds like a major project which I'm not willing to do. The good news is the adapter under the armrest works just as well so I have a workable solution. Thanks for all the help!

Removing the console is about five minutes and six or seven screws.
