Hypertech question
I've read that the Hypertech can adjust A4 shift points & firmness. I'd like it if mine shifted at somewhat higher MPH in each gear, especially at part throttle. And I'd also like it if it dropped down a gear for passing, etc., without having to go WOT.
Will the HPP3 do these things for me, or are its shift point adjustments only effective at WOT?
I'd guess a Transgo kit would accomplish the same things, but I'm not sure I want to get into that.
I am using it on my '99 A4 coupe. It will allow you to set firmness ( speed ), and also to raise shift points but only at WOT.
Its primary use to me was in changing the fan turn-on temp. And also it will come in handy when I change from my 3.15 to 3.42 gears.
Buying it new is a waste of money IMO, because there are better options now for not much more money. But if you can be patient as I was and wait for a used one to come on sale for about $175, then it's not a bad deal.
I'm very happy with mine, adjusted all parameters that I was interested in, is simple to use, if at a later date I want to do more I'll go with Ls1 edit, which requires much more in the way of peripherals. I purchased mine used, off the forum and consider it one of my better investments.
