On my trip to Mississippi, I noticed a 'shaking' in my steering wheel. This is what is happening: If I take my hands off the steering wheel while going straight, the steering wheel quickly oscillates left/right/left/right/left/right by about an 1/8 of an inch. The car will go straight on a flat road, wander right on a road crowned to the right, and wander left on a road crowned to the left.
Anyone ever experience this? Any ideas what the problem may be? It would sound like an alignment or tire issue, but the tires are new and it has been aligned within the past 1500 miles.
I had the same issue a couple of years ago. The problem was the tires were not properly balanced when I put them on new rims. Take them back to the tire place and have them check the balance again.
Did the car body vibrate also? I've had the car up to 85 MPH, but didn't notice any vibration in the body of the car. I've notice the steering wheel shake as low as 45 MPH. It doesn't seem to get worse the faster I go. I'll get the wheel balance re-checked when I can. Hopefully before the 1200 mile trip home.

The car did not vibrate at all, only the steering wheel. Like you said, it would become more noticeable after you get up to speed. I had the front wheels rebalanced and it solved the problem right away. If this does not help it may be a problem with your wheels.
