Congrats on the car, and welcome to the forum
I will be gettin a S/C installed on my car in a couple weeks, when that is done I will no longer have a need for my Vortex cold air induction. If your interested in this pm, or email me. Intake and exhaust are usually the first mods poeple do. There are several intake choices blackwing, vortex, vararam, ect. along with several exhaust choices corsa, borla, etc. you cant really go wrong with any of these. Good luck with your mods and again congrats on the car
cant beat Vortex ram air :nono: best bang for the buck :yesnod: Exaust is a bit tougher to choose because they all sound and look diff :seeya Congrats on the Vette, that was the age I bought my Vette as well
From: If you can see the car behind you, your not going fast enough
Re: 1st vette, need mod help (bigsmatty)
Intake: Vararam-Best performance
Blackwing-Good Performance, cheaper then the Vararam
Dual Induction- IMO Best looking under hood(Chrome)
Exhaust: SLP Loudmouth-Great Performance, Awsome Sound,
lacking in looks, Great price
Borla Stingers or XR-1- Good performance, Awsome Sound,
looks, Reasonably priced
Corsa Indys- Awsome Looks, Good sound, ok performance, and
a bit pricey
That about sums up all the most popular stuff on the forum!
:steering:
Congrats!!!
Do you do your own work or take it to a shop?
This will make a difference if your budget is limited.
I did all the work myself and for less than $1100 I was able to pick up
a vortex rammer, CF airbridge, power coupler, SLP loudmouth and Corsa x-pipe. I bought the stuff from other memebers with the exception of the x-pipe which I bought new. Saved a lot of $$$$. If you are patient and watch the forsale section here you can save a bundle. Check out my mod list. I did all the mods on my list for a bit over $5K this way. If I purchased new and paid to have them installed I would have cost me close to double that. Best advice is to hang out here, ask lots of questions and learn all you can. Also try to come up with a overall plan for your car rather than making impulse purchases here and there. I say this because many mods work well in conjunction with others and may infact require another to work properly. Lots of good information to be had here. You are in the right place. :D
Hey Cajun, Where did you get that deal from? I am close to buying my exhaust and intake is next on the list. However, at that price i could get both right now.
I got in on group purchases on the Blackwing from L.A.P.D. and the Stingers from Extreme Motorsports. Both supporting Vendors.
I'm not sure what the prices are for those pieces currently. :)
