I have a Blackwing, FLP's, off-road pipes, O2 simms, and Borla stingers on a 99 A4 3.15 convertible with a diablosport predator.
I am going to get 3.42's, but how much will I enjoy a stall on the street. I am more-than-likely not going to put in a roll cage, therefore I will not put an incredible amount of track time on the car.
You can tell by the exhaust that I like sort-of 'aggressive' street cars, and will get an 'aggressive' stall. I will not get one if it does not make an appreciable difference.
Since every aggressive street car I have had has been a M6, I don't know if I would like a stall for the street. I want neck-snapping response, not sluggish, sloppy, mushy throttle response. What would be the best choice for the STR, shift kit, brake stall speed, etc...?
Re: Changing gears, should I get a stall? (Nucdancer01)
By all means get a good high stall T/C. I have the Yank ST3500 (2.5 STR) and 3.73 gears and I love this combo. The combo is very streetable and gives you much better acceleration and responsiveness at all speeds (no more dead spots). I will be coming to Chesapeak Va. later this week drop me an e.mail and maybe we can get together and you can check my car out. See my mods below.

I work crazy hours (NAVY-Shiftwork), but would love to see your car. When exactly are you planning on coming down here? I will try to see if I can get out of work for a little while.

Jeremy, I should be coming down this Friday, I will be staying about a week at my daugther's house in Chesapeak. In fact my Vette is parked at her house right now I had to leave it down there because of all of the snow in NY.
As far as what STR to get, that would depend on what your plans are for your car. If you will not be racing much and you will be using street tires for the most part the SY3500 (1.65 STR) and 3.42s are an excellent choice. But if you are more serious about racing and plan on gettings DRs or ET Streets the Yank ST3500, SS3600 or VIG.3200 are very good choices with 3.42s. You really do not need a shift kit IMHO, since you will have to reprogram your PCM for the 3.42s you can also firm up your shift points while your at it. In fact Yank does not recommend using shift kits, check there web site under FAQs.
