Default Rim/tire EXPERTS....

Ok all you tire/rim know it all's...

Explain to me the difference in:

APPEARANCE, PERFORMANCE, & RIDE between these..

Using a 265/35/18 tire vs a 275/35/18 tire, on a 18x10" rim.

From the specs, it looks like MINIMAL difference, but I will await your thoughts.

Thanks

Well I had my 265's on a 9.5" rim as well, but just mounted them on a 10" rim..

Looks exactly the same to me...! (I will post some pics tomorrow)

My micormeter eyes (ain't what they used to be...), cannot discern the
1/8" - 1/4" difference in width or height.

Looks dam good too.. Nasty, what do you mean it doesn't look "right" ????

275 = fatter, less steering response, more wasted tread on the outside. Bigger sidewall = uglier (IMO). Nasty what sizes did you use on your c5 you had, post a pic of that baby she is sweet.

BTW what it really depends on is what kind of tire youre talking about. the same size tire in a different brand could be used for an entirely different purpose (for or rear). Porsches used to use a 265/35/18 on a 10.5 inch rim. It looked FAT on the rear. The more you can stretch the tire on the rim the better response you will get. Plus IMO it makes the rim look bigger too.

Last but not least if youre going to lower the car the 265s or 275s will look good. If you dont the smaller diameter of the 265 may make that gap look horrible. Go to tirerack and check the specs of the tire youre looking for. It will say the overall diameter... it should give you an idea how much of a difference there is.
If its for the front : 265 :yesnod: Rear : 275 :yesnod:
