have not heard one thing good about the Holley. Heat soaks and has a problem being installed. The bolts were all wrong and had to be countersunk. It basically sucks, but can be made to look nice if you polish it.
To port it you would need to extrude hone it and that cost about $600+.
Stick with the LS6.

I sold mine as soon as I got it. Had some "tips"

Have you looked into the Weiand intakemanifold? I don't know anything about it, but saw that they are making them. Note: It might be the same as the Holley, being that Weiand is a product of Holley. Any how, it's something to look into.

Have a tuner friend who tried it when it came out and the heat caused it to lose considerable hp--but can't wait until someone builds something more substancial, we need more intake, manifold, tb etc. with all the options for getting mix out of the engine it is amazing that someone has not developed something better for getting it in.

The following is a quote from Ls1.com re:the manifold you think is worthless "We saw a 22 rwhp gain on a stock '99 WS6 on our Mustang chassis dyno with the Weiand/Lingenfelter intake. The car owner (alias "The Black Hole") then drove the car out on the streets, then came back and said the intake kicks butt" This manifold is similar to the LS6 and the man who designed it is one of the best tuners in the country. The above quote was on an installation right out of the box.http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=259546
