Header Install Help

2 Use anti-seize on bolts going into aluminum
3 Use Koolsox or some other brand of spark plug wire heat sleeves
4 There are four bolts that hold the bracket the mounts to the tabs at the bottom of your headers - unbolt all FOUR, start the threads on each, and then clamp them down
5 Get some air tube gaskets before you start the project
6 Make sure to keep your O2 wires away from the exhaust
7 Position your band clamps so that they won't vibrate against the tunnel or something else that might cause noise, but will still be accessible if you need to remove the system.
8 Install the O2s into the headers BEFORE you intall them

This maybe a little later to help you out, but here's my 2 Cents on FLP Headers. . .
With the help of a friend (recommend you have someone else to help as well) I installed the FLP Headers System (with high flow CATs and X-Pipe) on my 1999 C5, Nassau Blue Vette a few months ago. . . . . they're great !
The install only took 4.5 hours from start to finish ! Both headers went in from the top !
1) Remove the "fuel Rail Covers".
2) Disconnect the "coil pack" (not remove)
3) Did not have to remove the "valve corvers".
4) Removed plug wires (didn't have to remove the plugs, but would recomend you do !)
5) Disconnected the stearing shaft at lowr end (mark both ends for reconnection).
6) Did not have to remove or disconnect the starter.
7) Header on the passanger side dropped righ in.
8) Header on the driver's side took a little effort and proding, but went in without too much *&#@>//#@ !
9) Don't pre-install the 02 Sensors per instructions. Wait until you get the headers in place then install the 02 Sensors.
10) Loosley install one or two header bolts to support the headers once they are in place (don't tighten them down yet).
10) Now, starting from the rear loosely connect and aline the rest of the system (high flow CATs and X-Pipe).
11) Start from the rear (at the over the axle pipe) and conect them to the X-Pipe.
12) Then loosely conect the X-Pipe and the "High FLow CATs.
13) Now loosely conect the High Flow CATs to the header collector.
14) Align the holes on the header flanges with the holes in the clutch housing support bracked and insert the bolts (don't tighten them down yet).
15) Once you have checked the alignments you can start tighting everything down (starting from the rear forward).
Well, that's my 2 cents worth. . . hope it helped and was't too later for your install. . . . good luck. . . I think you'er going to really like your FLPs !
