Went to Wal-Mart and found the HP 5138 filter for the PCV mod but the filter has a warning against using any synthetic oil or the glass might explode. Can this warning be safely ignored or have I missed something. Thanx.

From my own experience.....I would ignor it. I haven't heard of any failures with this Mod. I know there are a lot of Forum members using it. I just came back from the Ocean (Jones Beach) (Robert Moses Causeway) Did three 100 MPH plus runs. "120-130-&-130" Had to check out those 4:10's
The filter is made to be under 120 psi positive pressure. I don't believe 20 in of vacuum would be a concern.
The nature of the warning seems to imply some sort of weakening of the glass because of some chemical (not pressure) reaction caused by synthetic oil. This most likely would occur over time.
