Default PCV Mod filter replacement info inside

For anyone who has done the PCV mod, you're probably wondering how to get hold of the replacement 'white porcelin' filter elements. Although I can buy the entire filter setup all day long around town, I cannot find the replacement filter element anywhere.

I e-mailed Campbell Hausfeld and asked them, and they told me that the CH part number for the replacement filter element is SX128900AV.

Hope this helps someone out that is looking to replace the filter element only... no reason to re-buy the bowl and the NPT pass-through section, etc.

Even when its gets stained, its still porous...

You can still easily blow thru it...

You can also try soaking it in carburator cleaner. I haven't done that yet, so I don't know the efect of it, but I have talked to guys who have the mod for a year, and they are not having any problems at all.

Probably better to change/clean it once or twice a year.

I understand. I just wanted people to have the part number in case they needed it. This will be good if anyone ever does a search, because sooner or later, it's going to be necessary. What prompted me to do this was the lack of availability of the filter locally. At least now I know I can get the filter from CH when I need it.

But I remember someone said that he got the same white filter for oil not for water like the one we got.
BTW, so we gotta buy direct from Campbell?

Let me set everyone straight...

We are using the MP5138 air compressor mini type filter. It is primarily used for particulant matter & moisture... It DOES work in our type of usage.

The other alternative is the GReddy oil catch can.
I was told that the oil laden air is so heavy that once fed to the can, only the lighter vapor goes thru the outlet, trapping the liquid.

Of course the GReddy can is like $85, but a seasoned World Champion drag racer told me that when our cars are under WOT is when there is oil pumped into the intake, causing knock retard & denotation, and a loss of H.P.

If you do not drive hard or at WOT ever, then forget the mod.

However, if you race, or like to open it up, the mod is a "must do". :yesnod:

Indypace78,
Thanks for the info but I don't race, just normal daily driving and just after 2 days, I got about 1/2 of the teaspoon ... so I think this is a must mod.
I'll take my car in for warranty sometime.

Not a problem. I figured others who have done this mod may want to know where a replacement filter could be had.

I am afraid this filter will clog up the flow and cause serious problem, so I decided to replace my filter to GReddy catch can, Greddy doesnt have a filter, If it cache oil the way it should be, then this will be a worry free setup.
