I know people upgrade pre-2001 C5s to the 2001+ intake manifold (Z06 type) when modifying for max performance, but what about upgrading to the larger 2001+ MAF? Does a MAF change require a programming change?
Also, is there any difference in the throttle body with model year?
I don't believe you'll need to tune. The newer MAF ( LS6) already has a new transfer function within it's electronics for developing frequency output. You might post this question in Scan and Tune.Hope this helps.

Nope sorry your way wrong your car will run very rich if you don't use the translator and flip dip switch number 4 up.
You can get 85mm MAF's from SLP and other vendors that are like the '01+ MAFs'; IE: they have the IAT/MAT built into it and have seperate harnesses for each. These are already calibrated for 2000 and below PCM's.
The only thing that has been holding me back is you'd need a 2000+ air bridge and filter for the extra 10mm diameter.

You can get a coupler or bellow to make the fit. I have a pace LS6 maf, it came recal for the older pcms with all the proper wires and bellows. So you dont need the newer bridge.

That's the one I was looking at getting a while back. I've heard good things about the Pace MAFs. The link below is to a <'00 85mm screenless MAF with wiring harnes adapter and coupler. http://www.paceparts.com/product.asp?0=0&1=0&3=49037
I just can't picture how the coupler would work. The MAF clamps directly to the air bridge, and the bigger issue in my case would be how to connect it to the Votrex. I suppose I could open up the hole in the air box and the filter may stretch over the MAF. I called BPP and they said it would be best to replace the filter and box with a '01+ version made to accept the 85mm MAF. That's what made me start thinking that the stock MAF is fine, especially with my limited mods.
So this change will yield a 10 hp gain on a stock vehicle and more on a modified one (H/C, stroker, forced induction)?
:D :) :D
If it did I think more people would be doing it. By his sig I'd say Wicked is probably getting around 400 RWHP so I don't see how he'd even notice another measly 10 HP. ;)
