I went for my first emissions test since I've owned my '98. The don't even attach a hose to the exhaust anymore, they just hook up to the computer harness under the dash. :yesnod:
Just before they did that, I cleared one code in the system that was already there. :reddevil
I passed though, now I can have the privilege of paying the State of Arizona $304 to register my car for a year.

DANG! Expensive registration... watch out for the 2 year deal... sometimes its not advantageous. I would have wound up paying another $40 over the 2 years had I gotten the 2 year tag.
No way would I do a 2-year. If you move you're screwed out of that money. The registration fees decrease each year anyway, so what may be perceived as a deal is not necessarily.
I've never seen the 2-year registration higher than if you'd just paid two years consecutively.
a) It would've been $820, had the VLF offset not been initiated a short while back and
b) We pay no property tax for registered vehicles.
That's high. The plates I just purchased cost:
$24.00 state license plate fee.:D
$25.00 county license plate fee.:D
$25.00 custom license plate fee-all proceeds go to the Smoky Mountains NP:D
$1.00 fee for ordering via Internet
-------------
$75.00 Total :hurray:
NO Emission test in my county. :hurray:
NO property tax on vehicles or any other type of personal property. :hurray:
Insurance $640.00 per year.... :hurray:
I like TN, even if I am constantly surounded by Pickup Trucks that blow out black smoke, and they aren't diesels. :smash: :cuss
