Looks spectacular, sounds even better! Someone said it right when they said that us 6spd fellas have it best for controlling how much noise we want. And I have to say, all the pics and sound clips dont do em justice.
One question... I am somewhat concerned that the pipes are running too close to the very borrom of the trunk. Right now they are within an inch. Not touching, though... does this sound normal? Is there a possibility of the bottom of the trunk (plastic?) melting?
BTW - for my Blackwing and Catback... Thanks to Mike @ Extreme Motorsports for everything! They were great help and great prices.
(I think it was Mike, as I am horrible with names.)
Take a close look at the system/tubes when car is hot. The exhaust pipes elongate and may contact the rear plastic middle compartment as it did on my car. Had to take the "over the axle pipe" out and had it bent a bit more.
Alignment problems are well known on the Stingers.
Anyway, still love mine

I got my quad tip stingers installed last weekend at MTI in Houston, and they appeared to have plenty clearance, but the muffler on the right side hangs a little lower than the left. I will take it back to let MTI heat and bend it up a bit. AWESOME sound..... [IMG][/IMG] :D
I installed mine last week and I love the sound also,, lound as all heck when you want it to be and tolerable around town when your not gettin on it..
Does anyone have the stingers with the FLP or LGM longtubes.. I am thinking about this addition and would like to hear from someone who has heard this combo

I HAD stingers on my setup (see sig: note LGM's). Found them much too loud (caused tinnitus); they also had an unpleasant resonance at about 2500rpms. The GHL's I now have are "loud enough" outside, not unpleasant inside and have no resonance. Loudness, of course, is in part a matter of taste and in part a matter of health; the older you get, and the more auditory insults you've sustained, the more careful you should be to protect what's left.
I am into my first day of the stingers... here are my observations.
1) When you are pissed off after a bad day at work and would like a quiet drive home while listening to soothing classical music... they can be quite annoying. (bad timing on my first day with stingers)
2) I definatly need to get X pipes, the popping is what annoyed me on the way home this evening. The word is some nice X pipes will remedy this, eh?
3) Skunking inferior vehicles in a bray of genuine American horespower goodness that stings the ears: It's a good thing.
4) The look on the face of the guy in the challenging riced Civic when I roared my LS1 and said politely, "Please...": Priceless. :yesnod:
If you have close to an inch of clearance, you should be okay. Keep an eye on it for a week or so. Alignment problems are not common and your issue is not an alignment problem. The mufflers/tips will adjust downward away from the facia if necessary. Thank you for the business! Enjoy!

I chose GHLs since I have an A4 and a girlfriend.
I agree with the health/getting older thing. I've had a lot of exposure to power tools and firearms. Ever notice how womens' voices are the same frequency range as power tools and gunshots? :D
I have long term exposure to turbine engines all day... ever notice how women's voices might as well be a icepick in the ear after 12 hours of noise on the job?
