Default DRIVING ME CRAZY

Went out for a drive tonight...very annoying whirring (whistling?) sound was filling up the entire cabin. I got out of the car, and it's coming from someplace in the middle of the car. It does not gain intensity as I rev or go faster, nor stop when i come to a stop. Does anybody have any idea what this is?
thanks

What kind ofa sound? What area was it in?
it could be anything from a bad fuel pump to a bad ground causing alternator wine in your stereo. :cuss

I have read on the bad fuel pump on the forum..that's what I'm thinking it is too. It happens no matter what accessories are on or off. It defenetily coming from behind the me and not in front. Would the water pump be something that just starts up on it's own..or is it there from the beginning?

The principal sublight propulsion of the car and certain auxiliary power generating operations are handled by the impulse propulsion system (IPS). The total IPS consist of two sets of fusion-powered engines: the main impulse engine, and the Module impulse engines. During normal docked operation the main impulse engine is the active device, providing the necessary thrust for interplanetary and sublight instellar flight. High impulse operations, while acceptable option during some missions, are often avoided due to relativistic considerations and their inherent time-based difficulties.

Given that, I would say as long as it is a steady sound it's the fuel pump. Maybe if it's off and on it could be the cooling fans. Water pump would be dumping water before it made any noise and would follow the sound of the engine. Same thing with alternator.
