Tire valve core problem.
I'm having an odd problem with my right rear wheel. Basically, I am not able to put air into the tire. If I push the core in with a small screw drive, air will come out. However, with my compressor set at 80 lbs., I can not put air into the tire. :confused: :confused:
Can I just unscrew the core and replace it with a new one? If memory serves me correctly, the tire pressure sensors are attached to the valve stem. Will replacing the valve core "screw up" the tire pressure sensors?

Yes. You can simply unscrew the old core and screw in a new one. Of course you will need a core removal tool which should only cost you a few dollars and you will lose all the air in the tire when you take out the core. None of this will effect the tire pressure sensor. Before I did any of this however I would try another source for air(gas station) since you can move the core off its seat with a screw driver and I would think air pressure should do the same.

Terry34...........Thanks for your reply. Yes, I was able to just unscrew the old valve core and screw in a new one. I didn't see any problem with the old valve core, but the new one works.
