Hey all,
When I lowered my car I stripped the 10mm square head in the front bolts.
I was able to get it lowered with vise grips.
Now I am going to replace the front spring and I should replace this bolt.
Does anyone have the part # or know where I can find these?
Re: Stripped front lowering bolt...HELP!!!! (fdupny)
You're SOL!
The front spring adjusting bolts are part of the spring itself so there is no part number. In short, if you want to replace the front spring adjusting bolt you're going to have to buy a new spring (~$400). Or if you're lucky you might find a forum member who removed their front adjusting bolts and would be willing to sell them to ya. GOOD LUCK!

Re: Stripped front lowering bolt...HELP!!!! (fdupny)
Just a question why are you replacing the springs if you lowered it the way you have it and it sits fine. The only reason I would by another spring with the bolt if I had to, if you got it to sit where you want it, don't waste your money. I have had my vette like that for months a no problems.
Nah, they will usually turn by hand, from underneath, if you relieve the spring pressure. You will see when you replace the spring. An easy way to adjust later is to put a second jack under the spring, just remember to protect the spring from the jack. Lowering the front should be done this way so as not to rip the first layer of rubber off the adjustment screw bushings. I bet lots of folks are driving around with the first steel washer riding against the lower a-arm.

I car came with the the FE1 "soft ride" suspension.
I have replaced the shocks with Bilstein sports and put in the Z06 sway bars.
I bought the 2002 Z06 springs to complete the package.
Re: Stripped front lowering bolt...HELP!!!! (fdupny)
I looked in my parts book and could not find any reference to the bolts except that they are included with the Z51/Z06 front spring. I’d check with the dealer anyway to be sure. You might want to check with Gene at Kar Shop (banner ad on the left) as he might have some available. Junkyards are another possibility.
Re: Stripped front lowering bolt...HELP!!!! (fdupny)
OK here's the deal. If you lowered your car using the FE1 springs and got it right where you wnat it, then i'm here to tell ya that once you install the Z06 springs you're going to have to relower the car. Trust me on this one. The Z06 springs are a lot stiffer then the FE1 springs. I have about a 2" drop all around but the only way i was able to get it that way was to cut off 3 of the four discs on each bushing on the rear and leave two threads showing on the stock bolts. For the front i had to completey remove the adjusting bolts.....so the spring itself is sitting directly on the lower control arm (insulated by a small piece of sillicone hose).
But if you don't want to go that low then once you install the Z06 springs do as posted above and releave the pressure on the spring and turn the adjusting bolts by hand until you have it car at the desired height.
If you have any question feel free to IM or email me.

Did you strip the threads in the fiberglass spring or just the head of the bolt?
The bolt head is actuall a 10mm hex. If you rounded this off, it may appear to be a square. If this is all that is damaged, then you really don't have a problem. If you push up on the end of the leaf spring, you can turn the bolt with your fingers.

I got to remember that, thanks for the tip.

Yep just rounded off the 10mm. I emailed the guy I bought the springs from to see if the bolts are included. Called Gene @ Karshop and he said he will keep an eye out for a damaged spring incase I need bolts.
I know it is fine the way it is but it just bothers me knowing it is there. :D
Guess I am just @nal about my vette.
