I finally did the LS6 PCV conversion on my 99 LS1. Total cost was about $65, you only have to buy 2 GM parts (there was a list of four parts floating around the net, 2 of which you dont need!), and 10" of fuel line hose. The whole job took me 4 hours from start to finish (I did it one night after work, and this car is my daily driver), and I'd never done it before nor did I know how much to grind off. It should be pretty quick for anybody to do now with the full set of instructions.
The LS6 system definitly appears as if it'll at least get rid of a portion of the PCV oil consumption, I'll have to see how my car is down the road. The main reason I did it was because it was cheap, and I didn't like the LS1 style PCV hose taking up the very little amount of space I have between my firewall and my intake manifold (its really tight on a C5, more so than an F-body).

Great write up Jon! This difinitly looks better then having a crapy filter hanging off the engine.
Do you or anyone else know if this LS6 PCV system is better then the filter for keeping oil out of the intake? I'm asking because if it is then by all means this will be my next undertaking.

Excellent write-up! Very well done and very thorough too. I'll be doing this mod in the very near future along with a new Z06 intake manifold install. (Might as well kill two birds with one stone.) Keep us posted on any changes in the oil consumption department too.
This mod will definitly still allow oil to be sucked up, however it should be reduced a bit. I'll be taking off my intake manifold in a week or so to see how filthy it is. One of the main reasons I did this was to get rid of the PCV hose that snaked behind the intake manifold (there's not much space back there!). The LS6 setup is just cleaner and simpler.

Jon,
Thanks a lot for taking the time to write this up and document it so well. Now that I've seen what is involved with it, I'm not apprehensive about doing it to my car.
Thanks again man, your site is a great resource!!
