Anyone ever tried this stuff? A guy at work used to race dirt tracks and said that a few of the people he knew were using Schaeffers oil in their engines. He said a bunch of people switched after a little dyno test they saw. A race engine was run on the dyno and it had Mobil 1 synthetic in it. They drained it, filled it with Schaeffers, redid the dyno and got 6hp gain.
I went to SchaefferOil.com and looked, then called them and they said the Supreme 7000 #701 is what I should use. My main concern is that it does not mention meeting GM4718 or whatever our spec is. Anyone have any insight?
Thanks in adance, Jake.
Yep, be sure to check out the used oil analysis on this oil. It is definitely a sleeper in the oil market. The analysis results have been excellent. Only problem is that most of their products are only available in bulk.
Racing oil will not meet the api requirement because it has more zinc than regular oil. Not sure about Schaeffer. I know I'm in the wrong area. I was just lurking. :D
vettenuts, i talked to them and they said i could by it by the case (6) at $42 but they have distributers and they said i could probably get it $5-10 cheaper through them.
poppy, your welcome to be in this area anytime, but if it would make you feel better, my red 99 is for sale :yesnod:
for the price, and if the stories i have heard are true, it is a no brainer, i just want to know that it meets the gm spec 4718 (or whatever) or that the gm spec really doesn't mean shiznit
