I just got off the phone with Patrick at Vararam; I’ve never been on the phone with any one for more than 1hr. I was on the phone with him for almost 3hrs. This guy is the most knowledgeable person I’ve ever talked to about mods. Everything I asked him he was able to pull hard tested number and in most cases he had numbers from a out side source. They have made a new intake that there going to bring out here in 2-3 months and Cartek is getting the first one for out side testing soon. In house testing they took a 430RWHP H/C car with the Vararam and just took off the LS6 intake and put on there new intake with no mods to and got 470RWHP a gain of 50RWHP just from the intake on a H/C car. They haven’t tested it out on a fully stock car with LS1 intake yet but they think it will get 30 more hp, he said the head and cam take advantage of the better airflow the best. Cartel should have one to test here in a few weeks but I don’t know if there going to release the results right away.

I don't mean to shoot the messenger, you know , no flame on you, but I got to see this to believe it.
and who knows what material it's made for. If Cartek is testing it, I'm assuming it's more for race-bred applications.. The problem with the LPE/Holly manifold is heat soak.. You can't really drive around town with an ice pack on your engine..
He wouldn't say anything about it but what gains they got from it and that was after pushing it for some time. I just got of the phone with Dave at Cartek and he said it was spouse to be there some time ago and they’re still waiting for it. I don't know the runner length, or what it's made out of. This in the intake manifold those who don't know what I was talking about and I should have been clear in the post, sorry.
I've been researching trying to find a good intake for the 436 being built, I am very interested in the intake it's the last piece of the puzzle for anyone who is modding their car, the zo6 is the restricting factor to get the power the motors are capable of and this is particullarly true for the strokers we have essentially a 280cfm intake and heads flowing 330+cfm and could probably flow more. Also most of you guys are probably too young to remember the muscle car era where you could bolt on the highrise edlebrocks with a holley dual pumper and get an easy 50rwhp on a motor, a good intake for our c5's would quite easily get us 40 to 50rwhp depending on what you have in your motor.
I believe it was a gain of 40 hp because if you add 50 hp to the 430 you started with you would end up with 480 total hp. Maybe they had a different math teacher.  :boxing :conehead
I've been speaking to Patrick at Vararam over the last few weeks about this,it's going on my car for testing.Cartek has a few other things in the works in regards to the intake/induction system,so stay tuned.
I'm glad they chose Cartek and your car as I am much more interested in what it can do than how much it will help a stock car, I've no doubt that since the current ls6 intake flows pretty much right on for the capacity of a stock motor that they may see little increase on the stockers but the stock guys could use this with a bigger stick and get great increases with stock heads, I have spent the last year talking to everybody I could find about intakes and I am very excited about the possility of an intake that will let the modified motors breath to their potential, if this works we will see some serious numbers out of the stroker NA's. The cartek stock displacement motors are easily turning 1.3hp per ci, if the 422's are able to breath as well that takes a 500rwhp 422 to the 550rwhp range where they should be.
