I would also lower the front too...I've heard from some people that it is unsafe to travel at high speeds if the front is higher than the back due to aerodynamics issues...Just lower both ends...you'll get used to the air dam scraping over bumps. Also, you should plan on getting the AndA rocker rails and frame savers for xtra protection. :yesnod:

I did a full drop on the rear of my car and left the front alone. No problems at all. :yesnod:
I have heard of major problems, but they are only apparent if you are on the track or otherwise going REALLY fast.

Yep, you are on track. If you lower the car you will end up with a little more negative camber.
So I was thinking :D If I lowered my car, the camber would be off. But wouldn't it be kinda like the Z06 aligment :D or am I totally off.

What does this cost if done at a shop. Anyone recently pay to have it done?
MSI charges $45 to lower a C5 just by turning the adjusting bolts. It takes us just about 40 minutes to get the ride height just right.

Because we are considered the C5 alignment specialist in Northern california, usually we are doing a full 4 wheel alignment, in which case we will lower the car for no additional charge.

If you want us to cust the bushings we do charge an extra $45, but we do not recommend it, unless you switch to shorter shocks (like Bilstein sport shcoks) as the stock one will be very close to bottoming out and the ride quality can really suffer.

I used this link.

othersite/diy_lower.php

Basically, jack up the car, remove the wheels, turn the front bolt counter-clockwise (MORE thread showing is LOWER). For rears, jack, wheels off, FEWER threads is LOWER.

Jacking up the car and removing the wheels was the hardest part really.

Good luck, I liked the results.

Keith

BTW, I think it's really cheezy to change my link from Z 0 6 vette . com to Covetteforum

Thanks Guys!

I went from the front lowered (bolts turned all the way) to cutting the bushings.
Now the front matches the rear...about a 1.75" - 2" gap all the way around. :D

Disconnecting the sway bar, lower shock bolts (2), UPPER A-Arm bolts (4) in that order
gave me enough room to get to the bushings. A little upward pressure on the leaf
spring, a drill with a bit(s) (you will break these) that cut sideways :yesnod:
and 7 hours on Friday (trying to get the LOWER A-Arm to drop :nonod: ), and a few hours
on Sunday working with the UPPER A-Arm (that worked for me). My front dopped about
1/2" waiting for things to settle and a shipment from A and A Corvettes this Wed,
rocker rails and frame savers! :D
