Through research it seems people have been very impressed with the Transgo Shift Kit. I am also looking at installing a SS3600 or SS3800 T/C, is this set up going to be overkill for the A4? Also If I increase the line pressure with my friend's Hypertech to firm up the shifts how will that affect the situation given it is ok to install both the Transgo and the T/C? Thanks in advance, tired of my old man's Viper being king around here so I'm slowly going to do something about it.
I am installing a Yank SS3600/3.42 in my 01 Coupe. I heard the kit is great, btu you need someone who KNOWS how to install it. Vince Stella and others LOVE teh shift kit, he actually has a Yank SS3800.
Well your on the right track anyway..but you will need to do something about those desert 2.73's gears. Installing the SS3600 will be disapointing if you don't at least go with the 3.42 gears...Just my :02:D
Which t/c for 3.73's? I was thinking about the SY3500, but would another like the SS3600 be a better choice? Also should a transgo kit be installed? I've heard conflicting opinions reguarding the transgo kit with converters? yanks website says not to do it???
I run the SY3500 with 3.42's and the TransGo and it's the REAL DEAL!
It seems with some PCM re-writes when adding gears and tc that the
shifts become somewhat soft or sloppy. The TransGo will address this
and then some. Plus is does not affect the PCM at all. It's all in the tranny.
ps...I'm also running a tranny cooler too. Think about that and/or a deeper
transmission pan for the holding of more oil which will in theory run you cooler. Aftermarket TC's will raise tranny oil temps considerably, especially
while at the track or doing your own WOT's.
