Default Bilstein sport shocks?

I am looking to replace the shocks on my wifes 98 Coupe base suspension car and was hoping for some feed back on these shocks. They are available for a great price and I was hoping for a slight handling gain. what do you think. Help. I had the HD ones on a different car and loved them, they said the sport shocks are firmer still. anyone familiar with these?

Thanks, Ty

TyVette99,
Yes, the Sports have greater compression and rebound valving than the HD’s so they are firmer. I just put a set on a C4 with FE1 (standard) suspension and am very happy with the result. If you want to improve handling, you should also consider a Z51 swaybar and link upgrade. BTW, what’s the great price for the Bilsteins? – C.

I just installed a set a little over a month ago with some Z51 sway bars and metal end links. Night and day difference. Do it because you won't regret it..

Good Luck!

I believe there was a GP that ended Friday.

It was a sliding scale and from what I read last, only a handful of members step up with the cash, even though interest in a purchase was high.

They forum vender was offering $270 + shipping.

Is that true?

I just installed Bilstiens on my 2001 Coupe with Z51. The car is alot stiffer, I'll be on the track this weekend to see how much better they handle. If the car is your wife's, she may not like the ride..they are much stiffer than the stock Z51 shocks!

Hi Ty:
There was a forum thread on this a month or 2 ago and lots of good comments on what a difference these make. Do a search and you can find it. I made a mental note to switch my 01 over in the future.
Incidentally, I hooked up with Jeremy and listened to his Stingers. The Corsa's are gone and the Stingers are on and I love them!
Thanks, Greg

I just put them on .
I also have the ADDCO / BMR swaybars.
The bars have been on for 8 months and the shocks 2 days.
Both made a huge difference.
It's hard to compare them fairly to 96k. miles Z51 shocks , but they feel great.
Not to stiff, but definately stiffer.

I replaced my old shocks with the Bilstein Sports and they do make a big difference in the handeling of the car, the ride is a much stiffer and with my EMT'S you really notice the stiffer ride but all things considered they are a great shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spent 4 hours on the road and even my female said the car seemed better....Bumps that used to toss the car are not even upsetting the chassis anymore. :D
