How many of ya'll have an X-pipe in front of your Stingers? I in stalled my Stingers a few weeks ago, and absolutely love em. However, that gurgling/popping during deceleration is really starting to get on my last nerve. Any recommendations on an X-pipe (or anything else) that will help this out? Also any preferance on X-pipe based on performance/sound? Thanks fellas! I'm gonna get some pics up when I get her all cleaned up - if it ever freakin stops raining.
I just installed 4 tip, same thing.......I have info on Magnaflow Mandrel X Pipe - Stainless that was posted on forum but I can't give credit to correct member ??. I don't know if Husker is a approved vendor but sent IM, and I'll give you info. :flag :flag Support our Troops !

Odd, that is my second favorite thing about the stingers (1st is WOT!). I LOVE the gurgling/popping sound on decel. I love to leave it in 4th and let off the gas about a 1/4 mile before the light and coast just to hear that.
I hope it doesn't go away when the headers finally get put on. :mad

I love the gurgling and popping. Especially at about 80mph on the interstate when you lift and are coasting and then you roll back into the throttle and she goes POP and the people next to you look over and smile :yesnod:

I agree in that respect, that is definatly too cool!
However, this is my daily driver. Every time I let off the accelerator pedal, even slightly, it starts popping. If you add up the times I have to do that on my 20 minute drive to work, thats alot of popping. If it only would pop after I had it up at WOT, then it probably wouldnt bother me so much. It might also have to do with hearing the popping all the way home after a 14 hour day with 8 of the hours spent listening to two 850hp turbine motors turning propellers that are located right next to my head. Boy do I sound old now, and I am NOT old!! But damnit, the music will NEVER be too loud! :)
I could see the Pop getting annoying if it is your daily driver. Good luck trying to tone her down a bit. You probably shouldn't put headers on her eithier, as I've heard the Borla's get really loud after a set of Long Tubes are put on. hehe, guess I'll be able to tell you if that's true or not soon.
Good luck!
I´ve put on the Corsa X-pipe, fine fit, good instructions.
The crackle and pop is reduced by about 90%, but also the sound is mellowed, a little softer. But for reducing/nearly eliminatiing pop, an x-pipe will do the job.

Here's a suggestion that may make some  or  . Leave it the way it is with the  popping. Then when you don't want it, don't engine break. You have a manual transmission man, when you are braking for that light or stop sign or traffic -- take it out of gear and use just brakes to stop.
The highway coastdown popping will still :banghead:
Had my quad-tip round stingers installed recently. No x-pipe, and at this point I have no intention to do so. The burbling etc is totally reasonable for me and my vehicle. There is some resonance, but since I have a 6-speed, nothing I can't control myself if I ever need to.
Nate at Xtreme often can quote you good prices.
I just got my stingers last week and i love em.. 2003 a4 they sound awsome! I dont get any popping at all unless i want to play with her in second gear even then its minimal.. I put the blackwing on today and wow did it wake her up..
Well I have the quad stingers and the Bassani cross pipe. Sound is beautiful but it does pop and gurgle when I let up on the gas and between shifts. But nothing sounds better to my ears running it through the gears. It has a smooth loud sound that draws some attention to say the least. I also thought the cross pipe would nearly eliminate popping from what I read but I found it not true on a 99 torch red coupe. :seeya
