Default modified air box lid question

I just installed a modified cut out air box lid on my 99 convert and I was wondering if there was any danger in water getting to the air filter or further into the system now. It looks kind of scary with the filter showing. Is it a problem, or am I concerned about something that I should not be.

Thanks,

You should use a K&N air filter also. If you don't have one, I will send a new one in a box with the stereo for $35 dollars. Forum price is about $50. It came with my Magnuson.

GraveDigger,

Did you get my check yet? Does the oil come with your K&N? If so, can you go ahead and send with the stereo and I will send you another check for it? That way I won't have to wait any longer for the stereo. Let me know. If not go ahead and send stereo and i will let you know later about filter.

Jamie,
Just got your check. The stereo will go out on Monday. I beleive the filter is pre-oiled and ready for use. The cleaning and oil kits can be purchased separatly when you need to redo it.
Let me know and I will go ahead and send now if you want.
It does come with a sticker

You should probably install a performance hoodseal. Many Forum vendors carry it. :yesnod:
