How hard is this, can it be done without a lift and a cresent wrench. :lolg: Just kid'n about the adjustable wrench , but is it possible without a lift. Thanks, John :seeya

You should be able to do it using jackstands. Be prepared to fight the old gas charged shock wanting to expand. Use wire or a long Ty-Wrap or two to keep the old shock compressed until you get it out. If the new shocks don't already have a strap on them, then I would recommend doing it yourself and then clip the strap when you get the shock positioned where you want it.

Piece of cake. Did mine Friday. Drove into 21st Century Muscle Cars at 9am, drove out at 10:30am with shocks installed! Highly recommended method!

Seriously though, if you have a lift it would be much easier, based on watching the guys do this yesterday. They did everything from the bottom, no removing of upper wheel well covers in the engine bay as I have seen others do.

Good luck!

I did this in my garage and I can turn a 2 hour job into 3 days.
Zip ties were the key for me to keep the shocks compressed for
an easy fit!

If you are doing it in your garage on jack stands and are going to throw the old shocks away, I have a tip for you. Before you throw them away you are supposed to drill a hole in them and relieve the gas pressure. It may be easier to get the old ones compressed and out if you drilled the hole before removing. Then they compress really easy and don't try to extend.

When I took the ones off of my car it had 50k miles on it and they were so worn that they were a sinch to remove. The zip ties on the new ones is definately a life saver.
