ok its started raining hard today, i was on the freeway and i used my right blinker and it started to flash fast, really fast. i would say about 3times as fast as normal and it is just the right not the left!
do i need a new blinker???
Dean
Most likely the bulb is burned out - that is definitely the problem with my wife's 98 Vert. I have a replacement bulb but now comes the $64 million question - any "how to's" on how to replace the bulb? The Owner's Manual is no help - talking to the local Chevy Dealer Service Rep I apparently have to remove the fascia underneath the turn signal, jpull back the cold air intake (?) - anyone been through this? Sometimes I just miss the good Ol' days (!!!). :bb
Dude, Dean....one of your bulbs is out....probably just the DRL which is a part of the turn signal. Pick of the phone and reach out and touch someone buddy :D
My RIGHT side REAR turn signals have stopped working.
hazard lights work
brake lights work
When brake or hazards are on and I move the signal stick up to turn right, the rear right lights go out altogether.
The front right blinker blinks very quickly.
I pulled the right rear bulbs and they look OK.
I checked fuses 8&15 and both are OK.
I have replaced the rear bulbs- nothing has changed.
I have been advised to change the flasher module- except you have to remove the dash panel ...
Keep me posted if you find anything.
ok i took a look this morning and yes Andrew you are right the bulb is out!
now for the $100,000,000 question. how in the heck do you get to it. i looked in the books and it really doesnt say how to get to the DRL's.
does any one know how? the one that went out is on the passanger side.
--------------------------------------------------> sorry fish. did you check the DRL's?
If you have hands small enough you can reach it by raising the headlights and removing the bezel. It will give you just enough room to reach the DRL/turn signal lamps.
Otherwise go get some Rhino ramps and drive the car up. You will see a panel in front of the front wheel that you can easily remove and gain access to the lamps that way.

:withstupid: Dean, it's kinda a PITA....but not so bad like spark plugs or anything :D There are about 6-8 small bolts that need to be loosened in order to remove the plastic panels in order to get to the bulb. Take it easy man
I had to pay my $10 fix-it ticket citation for no front plate today :reddevil Of course I just happened to strike up a conversation with the slimmie waiting in line behind me. :D She got tagged for the same thing driving a benz, very high end family (country club, Claremont College, etc) She was talking her way out of the ticket by saying she never got it from the DMV, I told her that I thought it just looked stupid on my car, which I told the officer that signed it off as well. (I got this perplexed, yet flirty, look from her) :D Needless to say we left to go to the parking structure together where she agreed that a front plate on the Vette is stupid. :yesnod: At which time I got digits
Oh yea! This thread is about DRL bulbs!!! Go to pep boys or something...I think 2 will run you under $10
Had to replace our DRL lamp on right side, same symptoms as described here. Local GM dealed did it for me as I don't have any ramps. $35.00 (1/2 hour) to replace both bulbs.
you got her #?
lol so when are you guys going to hit the country club?
fixed them today bought white bulbs instead of yellow (i thought it was the lens that was yellow with a clear bulb) so now they are white DRL's only problem is im not sure if they are legal... hmm, they look cool though, it took 15 min to change them i just pulled of the light covers and stuck my arm in there and changed them no problem
