The man has not been called a winner and earned the reputation he has for nothing. I have a feeling John will fight and win this battle and when he returns to his shop in Decatur, I will try in be one of the first to welcome him back. So many people here and I am sure around the world are truely concerned about his recovery and well being. It shows how much John is respected and his work revered.
My understanding is that he has no brain activity... If indeed that is the case (which I am sorry to hear that it is) he is in very bad shape and I could only hope for a recovery. :cry
Well at least his back seems to have healed. I suppose semi-comatose is better than total, but this just sucks. Some people have emerged from comas after extended periods and he's a tough guy, so he has chance of pulling thru. :blueangel: :flag
When I decided to do my 427 TT I went through 21st Century Musclecars. Which is owned by John and Kerri Page. Kerri is John Lingenfelters daughter. I got to talk to her first hand about her Dad. I have never met him but I got a good impression of him by talking to Kerri. He is truely a special person and has really given alot to the Corvette community. I truely hope he can make a full recovery. I was hoping to someday get his autograph on my fuel rail covers. :blueangel:
This is REALLY sad... to survive a bad crash, only to be more or less "done-in" by the medical team. My prayers are with him and his family.
He wasn't " Done in" by the medical team. He had a reaction to a medication. There are inherent risks with all pharmaceuticals and all anesthetics. In fact there are known morbidity/mortality rates for all general anesthetic agents. I would bet John was receiving the finest care available (wasn't Terry Trammell- the trauma/ orthopedic Doc from Indy his surgeon??) :)
