Hi Everybody. I just joined the forum and am the proud new owner of a 2001 Mag Red C5 coupe. It had 1475 miles on the clock when I bought it. I love the car but was amazed at the level of road noise above 60 MPH. I met a guy the other day who has a 99 coupe and he told me he just installed a product called Dynamat Extreme in the rear hatch area under the carpet and it made a huge difference in reducing the level of road noise from the tires. Has anyone else tried this? This stuff is sold by stereo shops mostly but it can be had on ebay for about $98.00 for 36 s.q.
I did in the trunk :D It helped with road noise and some resonance from my exhaust. I would probably do it again but don't expect day and night differences.
I just ordered some sound deadening materials from B-Quiet: Going with 2 layers of Brown Bread and 1 of Quiet LComp. Trying to reduce the volume of resonance from my Borla XR1 through headers and catless. We'll see how it does.
