pop-up headlight problem....help

pop-up headlight problem....help
today I turn on my parking light, and the lights pop-up, but the headlights lights are off, one more click up and the lights turn on. I turn lights off the head lights go down but the passanger side motor is still running w/a ratcheting noise for about 10 seconds. :cry
problem #1, lights pop-up in the parking light position
problem #2, right side motor makes a ratcheting noise, thinking its not in the down position.

Time for a new headlight motor. Call your dealer and get a price. Been there done that. Fortunately mine was covered under warranty.

Hi all,
c5edko, what year is your Vette? The '97's and '98's have a headlamp actuator motor you can open up to get at the nylon gear wheel inside(which is what is stripped) and replace it. It's a piece of cake. I had to do it and luckily found a replacement part from a junk yard. The '99's and up have a sealed motor, so you're screwed if you have this year up. HTH

if one of the motors is bad it will act like yours.
You just have to replace the faulty motor and all will return to normal.
The failing motor causes the headlamp module to raise them both in the park lamp position.
Just replace the faulty motor.
