confused and getting irritated with my tpm's.my d.i.c. tells me every morning BEFORE i fire her up that all four tires are running between 24-28 psi.i noticed someone referred to an o-ring problem.is that the o-ring that surrounds the pin in the valve stem?i can't even get apressure reading with 3 different gauges(2 brand new digitals, and a old-faithful stick)!the tires themselves look and feel(ride-wise)that they're fine;but this is really beginning to **** me off,big time!heading to the dealership this thursday for an initial evaluation, and i'd like any suggestions or experiences that you might be able to relate to me...thanks in advance!this problem seems to be occurring with more frequency lately!
I do not know if this will help...
1 - My 1999 does not show tire pressure on the DIC until I reach 20 mph or the like. Kind of a blank screen that reads Ft ___ Ft___ (push button) Re ___ Re___ until speed attained then Ft 33 Ft 33 Re 25 Re 25.
2 - The O-Ring is at the base of the valve stem sleeve. Remove the valve stem cap and the the sleeve can be socketed off. There is an o-ring right there that can leak.
3 - Some air hose ends do not work on my stems. So the gages you are using may not work either. However, the Radio Shack Digital pressure Gage seems to work on everyones.
There is a tire sensor re-learning procedure that is done with a strong magnet. That could be the root of the problem.
thanks,kenny...i had her in for6k oil change and the "o-ring" isn't supposed to be seated aroung the valve stem pin,but rather in thecap itself!i've got aftermarket stem covers and apparently i torqued the poopie out of them, and forced the o-rings down around thepin!!!never had run-flats before,so i wasn't sure whether they belonged where they were,or not.while they changed the oil,i checked out a couple of '02's in the yard and discovered my faux pas!hhhow stupid do you suppose i feel;well,i'll take one for the forum team 'cause i'll bet i'm not alone here.thanx again!!! :steering:
