It means the inside of your combustion chamber getting carbon on the surface of the pistons, valves, and spark plug from burning oil. Even though I did the PCV mod, I run my hard, with good gas, so carbonization was not a problem for me. I just wanted to keep my chambers as clean as possible.

I used to be stationed in Wiesbaden...stationed in OK now. MAJ in the Army...2 questions what is the PCV mod and how do you reduce or eliminate carbon???

Sir, do a search for the PCV mod you will get lots of hits and many pics. Basically you are putting a small oil/water separation air filter inbetween the PCV and the throttle body to trap the oil fumes that normally get burned and coat the inside of your intake runners.
Go to SEARCH upper left, type PCV, and choose C5 Tech/Performance section.
