I just bought my first C5 yesterday and I noticed that the light on the dual climate control is very faint (sometimes you cant even see it so i can't tell what temp it is set at). The radio is fully lit and all of the other lights work fine. Not that big of a deal since i could always do it manually.
Has anyone ever had this problem? Any ideas how to fix?
Sorry, i should have mentioned that. I can control the other lights with the dashboard light control. but it doesnt seem to affect the climate control.
I'm sorry but this is a very common problem. You need to replace the climate control unit, the display is not replaceable by itself. I was able to get a good used one from the C5 Parts forum, it is an easy DIY to replace. A new unit is something like $600.

Since you just recently bought your car, you might consider a warranty. If you recently bought it from a dealership, with a little persistance, you should be able to get them to rectify this for you.
