Went to track today ran my car way to many times. Now I have a weird noise coming from the back of car. It kind of sounds like a whinning noise that is present only on acceleration and disappears when I let off the gas. The noise is most present at low RPM in 5 os 6th gear on highway. It also goes away when clutch is in. When I say it is present only on acceleration I mean as long as foot is on the gas even just barely. I know it is hard diagnose something without actually driving it but any suggestion as to what it could be would be greatly appreciated. I did run my new best of 11.67 and just want to know how much it cost me to do so. Thanks,
JOHN :seeya
Well lets hope it is not your differential gears. But..that is my guess.
So the noise is present with acceleration.
So the car is squatting in the rear?
Well jack er up. Spin the wheels. Perhaps a speed sensor gear near the wheel. Loose tie rod. Bad u-joint on the out put shafts. Cable hitting something.
Jack er up and start her up.
You could check the diff oil level and then drain the diff oil and look for metal shavings also.
