Ok, here's the story.. I go out to the car yesterday and try to start it.. Nothing.. Dead battery. Replaced battery and noticed later it too is draining (slow start, etc).. So I know I have a current draw somewhere. Last night I pull in the garage and notice that when I get out the Instrument cluster is still lit. Hmm.. Not remembering if this is normal or not, I figure I'd come back in 10 min to see if it's still lit or if it was just a time based thing. Nope, still lit. The IPC never shuts off.. Looks like I found the source of the current draw.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm beginning to think that it's a stuck relay in the BCM. If I pull the BCM #2 - IPC fuse (if I remember right), the IPC lights go out. Problem is, I have to keep taking out the fuse when I shut the car off. I can't leave it out as the car will not start without it.

What I'd like to do is pop open the BCM and look for any corrosion or a stuck relay. I know from reading posts here that other BCM's have had water intrusion (AC) problems and this was previously a Florida car. I'm an elec engineer type so jumping into the BCM isn't necessarily an issue for me.

What I'd really like to find out is a wiring list to the BCM if anyone has one available. Preferably anything making reference to IPC lighting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I have spent the last half hour looking through the manual with no luck on IPC illumination failing to turn off. Did you check for DTC's? Send me a list of them if you can.

There are so many things involved in the IPC that you really need a scan tool to diagnose what is going on.
