Would you say it is louder than stock or about the same? Did you install the X-pipe or not? I have a friend installing his on Wednesday. He's trying to decide whether or not to put the X-pipe on right away or not. He wants to be louder than stock. What would you Magnaflow owners suggest and don't say Borla for he is a Magnaflow kind of guy?
Re: How loud is the Magnaflow system? (batsallover)
:iagree: unless you want a motorboat sound, or a raspy mustang sound, the Magnaflow rocks......I have FLP headers also and it sounds as quite as stock, until you want it to open up.......quality is second to none. If you are looking to do headers down the road, skip the X pipe.....FLP's will have thier own! :chevy
I originally installed them on a stock car and they sounded great, very mellow, but louder than stock. I currently have LT headers, supercharger, heads, cam etc... and the sound is perfect, not too loud and no motorboat sound. All in all I'm very happy with them, and I have no X-pipe.
Can you just get the Magnaflow mufflers and leave the stock piping in place? Or does it all come as one kit? How much did it cost? How bad is interior resonance? Sounds like what my dad wants.

They are louder than stock, but not too loud. They have a much better sound at Idle than virtually anything else out there. They wake-up nicely when you stand on the loud pedal. The X pipe quites them down, but does make a few more horsepower.

The kit includes the over axle pipes and all clamps and bolts. It even comes with a billet aluminum plate that goes between the left and right bank of tips.
They go for $850 and the X pipe adds $250 to the deal.
The interior resonance is much less than it was when they first came out. With a 6speed there is no resonance problem at all. With the 4speed auto, the older (more than one year old) kits had a problem with resonance.
We usually have a kit in stock ready to ship. Let me know If I can be of assistance.
Man your car looks great with The TI exhaust
Hope we can get a deal going on the x pipe
