I have not yet taken my car to the track. I am going to soon, just curious as to what times I might could expect. I have an 02, LS1, six speed with stock 3.42, Cartek stage 2 X package, Stainless Works headers, route 66 cat backs, x-pipe, and a ported LS6 intake. I currently have 401 rwhp and 370 tq. Which I feel should be a little more, but that is because of the tuner I used, who was obviously not very good. Any way what are some of your opinions on times, as is?
It all depends on how good you are. My '97 had roughly 430 rwhp and 420 rwtq and the best I could do was 12.7 at 120mph. I simply could not launch the car. My 60' times were in the 2.4 range. Your car should be capable of mid to high 11's with that much hp and torque, but again that depends on you.
Seriously, I cant wait to ditch the RUNCRAPS. They are the worst tire for launching/drag racing I have ever run. My bolt-on's Mustang would pull 1.9's all day, the best I can get in the Vette 2.1's :U Thats OK though I only have them for a couple of more weeks. Then Z06 Chromies and new shoes.
It's hard to get to 11s. Don't be dissapointed if you pull in the 12.50s If it's your first time out you'll be able to improve your times more than you think once you really learn your shift points and getting a good launch. And how to hook up with the tires your on.
Your best bet to get a low 12 and a 2.2 60' is to launch off idle. If you do a rpm launch you will need to feather the clutch or you will just spin. I hope you have a good clutch because you will need to abuse it to get into the 11's on emts!
