Will a Hypertech PP III program for 3:42 rear end?
I need to know if a HT PP III will let you reprogram for 3:42 gears? Also want to know if I can get some good gains without a TC and just going from 3:15 to 3:42s. Thanks

A Hypertech will not reprogram for a 3.42. I've heard that Hypertech had this option on some 98 C5's, however, my friend just sold his 98 with a 3.42 rear-end and his Hypertech did not fix the problem.
I have a 3.42 in my 2000 and have the Predator and it is awesome! I didn't add a tc for certain reasons, one being transmission longevity and two being traction problems. I am very happy with the results. Now I have had 3 differentials -2.73, 3.15, and 3.42. The 3.42 is great! Performance over a 3.15 is .2-.3 in a 1/4 mile.
My honest opinion is that if you do not add a tc, then the 3.15 to 3.42 swap is worth the time and money. However, if you add a tc, then I don't think it really matters whether you have 3.15's or 3.42's. This is just my opinion though.
