Optima Red Top Question

I recently purchased and installed an Optima Red Top battery to replace the Delco in my 2000 C5. I am having a problem getting the OEM brace to hold the battery in a stable position. I am sure others have had the same problem and would be interested in the solution.

I did not have that problem. Are you sure the battery is seated properly in tray? I remember the area for the brace to grab is small but mine is holding fine.

I just installed a redtop on Monday. Yep, I had a bit of trouble jiggling it around in there to get it to sit "just right", but after a few minutes of maneuvering it went and the factory hold down works just fine.

Well, beside the giggling I took off a bit of the OEM plastic part that holds the battery down. It now is a bit round in the middle to fit the round shape of the middle cell. Hope this helps.
