Just installed a G-tech and played with my new Hypertech PPPIII :)
Loaded the Hypertech Power Tuning (non-RFG gas version), increased shift firmness +50% and adjusted the 1-2 shift +2mph and the 2-3 shift +4mph.
Took the car down a quiet stretch of road for a 0-60 run (on a slight downhill gradient). Put it in 'D' and floored it with TCS on. Ambient temp was 65 degrees, coolant temp 192. Rear tyres are the original runcraps with 27k miles on 'em (ie. they're pretty bald!). Predictably, got wheel spin and activation of TCS at launch and turned-in a 5.65 and 5.62. Also getting spark knock with the Hypertech program so I assume I'm getting KR. Think I'll go back to stock programming.
What do you guys reckon I can expect with new tyres (ie. no wheelspin)?
Oh, had a bit of a heart-stopping moment during one aborted run... I left it in 2nd and forgot to change-up. Hit the limiter (bounced-off for maybe 2 seconds before I realised what was going on), then in a panic I changed into 'N' and back into drive at about 3,000rpm  Car seems fine... did I have a lucky escape not to damage the trans??? Don't plan on doing that again!
Sounds like about the same times I got on my runcraps with my Tazzo. With the Kumhos I'm getting 5.0 s with an occasional 4+ second run, best has been 4.7 which I consider pretty decent. I'm still learning to launch these new tires. I have no problems getting 2.0 or 2.1 60s, but have yet to get a sub 2 second 60.
A buddy just loaned me his G-TECH Pro. Since the weight you enter is critical in how this work works what weight did you enter? I figure with just myself on board I'd enter my cars weight at about 3450 pounds. I have read these meter's are accurate enough to get some good baselines before going to the track or dyno.

Tom
You only have to enter the weight of the car for RWHP measurement (which I haven't tried yet).
From what I have read, the RWHP figures calculated by the G-tech are not terribly accurate nor are they very conistent. This is probably because RWHP is measured net of aerodynamic and frictional losses. So, on a windy day or on a poorly-surfaced road, you would get lower RWHP numbers. The 0-60 measurement is accurate to +/- 1-tenth, so I would think this is a better way to test mods (although it is important to average several runs in order to average-out variances in launch technique, etc)
Since I have already been to a dyno I figure I can tell how accurate this gizmo is. I dyno'd in at 292 RWHP so I'll be interested to see what the G-TECH records. I'll post my results once the weather clears in the St Louis area.
Had another go tonight... flashed PCM with the Hypertech RFG Power Tune (non-RFG previously). 60 degree ambient temp, 205 coolant temp:
Best of 5.53s (with a softer launch, but still activated TCS)
STILL getting spark knock, but I THINK (from SOTP) I'm getting less KR with the RFG map.
Did 3 runs and some fast driving in-between and tranny temp rose to 195 degrees, so decided to call it a night. Getting new tyres on Sunday (Dunlop SP9000's) so I'll try again then :)
1-2 shift is set +2mph, but it seems AWFULLY close to the limiter (may have JUST touched it a couple of times during that shift). Anyone done any serious experimenting at the strip with shift points? As the car is a daily driver, I'm not too keen about going so near the limiter, so maybe I'll leave the shift points stock except when I visit the track.

No, it would have been a SURPRISE if you had damaged the transmission. I hit the rev limiter routinely. It doesn't harm a thing.
