Default Problems after alignment...

Last fall I had a set of Zo6 rims and tires put on my Vert. I had the alignment re-done to Z06 specs. Now 7 months later I was getting alot of wear on the right front tire.. It was bald on the inner tread pattern.

I paid for the shop to re-align the car, and they said that it was significantly out of alignment.. I have been driving now for a week and notice that the Active handling comes on much much sooner in my regular corners, and I feel like the car isn't gripping very well.

It also has a feeling of float in the turn... like maybe I broke an endlink on a swaybar???

It's strange, any suggestions?

Are you wearing the inside edge? middle? outside edge? all over--just plain high wear?

Has the car been lowered?

Have you hit any curbs? Any off road excrusions...

What tire pressures are you running? Ever check them HOT?

Do you turn harder to the right than to the left?

Did you flip fronts side to side before alignment?

Did you align the car with specific air pressures in the tires?

----------------------------------------------------------

If the suspension and components check out (e.g. nothing broken or worn out) I would start with a cornerweighing.

Now that your tires have worn uneven and you have aligned properly, the tires need to wear into the new alignment before things will seem right.

I just had my alignment done a few weeks back - I had a similar wear pattern where the inside of the passenger front tire wore severely only on that inner shoulder row of tread. My settings were way out from factory especially the camber which likely contributed to the edge wear.

With the new alignment, the car seems a bit off as well, but from experience I will give it a few hundred miles to let the tires wear into the new settings. I've used this aligment shop before and they tend to be pretty good.
