Questions for Hypertech owners
1. Is there a proven benefit (in ET and 0-60) in changing shift points?
2. I have the 3.15 factory performance gear... do I need to tell the Hypertech I have a 3.15 gear, or can I just leave it as stock (by pressing 'N' at the rear axle prompt).
3. When I want to modify shift-points or firmness, it would seem that the Hypertech re-flashes the PCM with EVERYTHING (including the fuel/ignition map). My gripe with this, is that any 'learning' the PCM has done since the last flash will be lost. Am I correct in saying that the fuel/ignition map is re-loaded even if you only want to change shift points, etc?
4. How long (miles) does it generally take for the PCM to adapt to a new fuel/ignition map? I have some spark knock with the Hypertech map (even the RFG version), but I'm hoping the PCM will adapt from knock sensor input and retard the timing only as far as necessary so as to stop the spark knock.
5. Say you just want to remind yourself of what settings you have programmed-in... you plug the Hypertech in and take a look. Do you now HAVE to re-program again, or can you just turn the ignition off and disconnect the Hypertech at any point and be OK?
Thanks a lot guys... the Hypertech manual leaves these questions unanswered.

In response to number 5, when you plug the HPP III in it goes through and tells you what modifications were previously made. At this point, no changes are pending and you can turn off the key and disconnect the HPP III. You do not have to go through the 15-20 minutes just because you hooked up the HPP III.
In response to number 4, I have read elsewhere in here that it takes about 100 miles for the PCM to adjust to changes in Air/Fuel etc.
Sorry, I hate typos.
I mean I really hate typos.
