Weird A/C problem
The problem is the outside temp is very eratic on the display going from 69` down to -41` then back up to any crazy number inbetween. The issue is that as soon as it says the oustside temp is under 34` the AC wont work. I assume it shuts it off as a safty feature so things dont freeze up but when It's raining and it shows undr 34` I cant defrost the windows.
Has anyone else had this issue and what required to resolve it.

Had the same problem with my 99. Its the outside temp probe........needs to be replaced. The intermittant eratic temp readings will get progressively worse. The climate control partially depends on input from the outside temp probe and will prevent the AC from operating if it receives input of a temp that indicates low (ie <45). I had mine replaced under warranty, but its not hard to do yourself.

Staring at the front of your car, look up at the radiator air inlet. On the left you'll see a little probe right beside the section of the frame that always gets crushed. Unscrew the screws to access it and there you are.
