Gonna install my K&N cone filter within the next day or so, but there won't be anywhere to attach the AIR hose that currently plugs into the side of the stock airbox.
What does the AIR hose do? Will there be any problems with just disconnecting it? Should I plug it?
Thanks for the replies guys, but what, exactly, does this hose feed?
For the moment, I've left it disconnected and unfiltered (but I've taken the elbow piece of the old airbox and connected it to the free end of the AIR hose to prevent any possibility of water ingress).
Whilst driving to work this morning, I could detect a strong smell of K&N filter oil wafting into the cabin! :U
As CP said, it's for the AIR pump (Air Injection Reactor.) The pump feeds fresh air into the exhaust manifold under direction of some relays and solenoids controlled by the PCM.
