Service Manual for 2001 Vette lists it as "The PCM has not learned the crankshaft position system variation" It can be caused by several things, but the most likely is that the battery ran down while the ignition was in the ON position.
If your MIL (Check engine light) is not on, then this history code should disappear after 40 warm up cycles of the engine. The PCM will re-learn automatically if it is due to the loss of electrical power.
However, if your MIL is on, then you will need to use a scan tool to force the PCM to relearn, and if that doesn't work, then the crankshaft position sensor and/or the reluctor wheel have to be checked/replaced.
