Did a search and saw nothing on the subject - seems lock many Fbody people are using a underdrive pully - anyone on a vette using one? If so, what brand, your experiences with it - HP gain, side effects, etc
Re: Anyone using an underdrive crank pulley? (Z28Z28)
Many have used the ASP 25% underdrive pulley. There have been a number of failures of the ASP ( not a huge number). Some , with bigger HP motors, are using the ATI damper which is 10% underdrive. Here's a link for current discussion http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=559649
Re: Anyone using an underdrive crank pulley? (Z28Z28)
I am using an ASP underdrive pulley. No problems and I can not even tell it is there. Except it takes different belts! Should be good for 5/10 easy hp.
Re: Anyone using an underdrive crank pulley? (CJS)
I had an ASP pulley but with my stereo it would kill my battery pretty quickly if I was at idle too long. I went back to stock. My bud had an ASP pulley that literally flew apart tearing up a few things in the process. Your best bet is an ATI pulley.

Okay, I did a search and found 33 hits just on subject alone. For those of you new to the forum, please be sure to check the archives. This forum is so active that topics move to archive very quickly.
Re: Anyone using an underdrive crank pulley? (Z28Z28)
I had one on my car for over a year. I picked up HP and TQ with it. It ran without any problems at all. I took it off to install the S/C setup that I have now.
Re: Anyone using an underdrive crank pulley? (C5 StockSwap)
Pardon me Mr C5 Stockswap for my poor search efforts ..... So you "got me" your efforts turned up 33 responses - don't you have anything better to do that to try and "best me." If you look I've been on the board awhile so your efforts to teach me IMHO would have been better spent trying to help answer my "repeated" question. I am so tired of having people come in on this forum and correct others for not searching or now not searching in the right spot ... has it ever occured to you that without repeated questions we would not hear about new experiences or have many posts to reply too ... if you want to harp on something how about all those people who post replies to subjects and the reply is just a post count increase with the reply having no real "content" ..... Sorry I'll get off my soap box now - but those of you who are so critical about spelling or searching really get to me, if you don't like the post - don't open it up!

You need to calm down...he was just giving you advice to make your next search effort more worthwhile and informative.....I'm tired of people saying they searched but never did....Hey, I didnt know threads went to archive so quick....now I search there first.
Re: Anyone using an underdrive crank pulley? (Z28Z28)
I have an ASP and it's doing fine. Some have found it necessary to machine the angle cut that is around the hub, about 3mm. It might or might not rub the case. I did mine to be safe.
I also think the search advice was meant in a positive vein.

Thanks Jim...I reread my post to see if I had taken on some kind of attitude. That is never my intention, and I'm not sure why David felt compelled to jump down my throat so quickly. I make it a point to spend time looking up build dates, searching part numbers and who knows what else for members on this forum. If that is going to be the response, then I'll just back off for a while.
Re: Anyone using an underdrive crank pulley? (C5 StockSwap)
C5 Stockswap - first off let me say I did "go off on you" and I am Sorry ..... I know you were just trying to help with the archieve angle - please keep up the efforts to help others .......
As far as search's go - seems some people do it and some don't and some get upset at those that don't, etc .... as I said, I just hope everyone will tolerate those that just want to "post up" - unless we have a bandwidth issue on this forum I don't see the harm as it generally brings in new dialog on the subject ... and for those that don't like the "repeated" topic, then don't open it. Sorry, I too will ....
