This is actually an older study. There is now a new study ongoing at another oil related web site where they plan to measure how much oil passes through the filter vs. how much is bypassed, how well they filter, pressure drop across the filter, etc. Should be an excellect study when completed.
I believe it may be part of this new study, but am unsure as they are focusing on filters that are common across product lines, and since most UPF filters are no longer made, not sure they will include it as it may skew the results. Also, I recently found out that Champion doesn't make the UPF anymore since the entire product line went down. Apparently, when they started making them again, they went with a different vendor. Not sure what this means as for quality, etc. but it is wort noting.
anyone heard of putting magnets on the filters to trap metal dust? i saw a c5 on a lift and the guy had put a big flexible refrigerator magnet on the filter, said it trapped like a magnetic drain plug. any ideas?
