Throwing a number of codes after H/C package, LS1 edit and clutch. I hope that most of the codes are insiginificant. The one I cant figure out is c1283. Ever since I got the car back the DIC tells me "Active handling is warming up". I have also got service AH soon. Any ideas?????
The car also seems to have slight surging at rpms 1800 to 2500, is this normal or do I need more tuning?
The AH system uses a number of inputs to calculate if the vehicle is experiencing severe over/understeer. One of these inputs is steering wheel angle.
The EBCM runs a process when you drive the car over 6 MPH for more than 10 seconds in a straight line on a level surface (EBCM knows you're going straight as the yaw angle sensors are reporting that the vehicle is not accelerating in a sideways direction). This process effectively redifines for the EBCM what is "centered" for the steering wheel. By doing this, the EBCM can account for wear or other factors that may affect steering wheel angle over a period of time.
The C1283 means that the vehicle has been driven for more than 10 minutes without the EBCM being able to complete the process called "steer angle centering"
Clean your MAT sensor and wiring connections. Make sure the wires are still connected. Also clean the connections on the sensor at the bottom left of the steering column. Several signals come from these parts and doing this cleared up the steering/active handling problem messages I was receiving.
