Re: Need instructions on cleaning Vortex filter (ccajun4real)
I usually use Gasoline to clean air filters...but K&N sells "recharge" kits that you can use to do that. You can usually find them at most automotive specialty shops.
Re: Need instructions on cleaning Vortex filter (ccajun4real)
Detailed instructions are listed on the K&N Filter Recharge kit. Essentially, the directions are as follows:
1. Tap the filter or use a light brush to remove loose dirt and/or debris.
2. Spray the filter with the air filter cleaner (it's essentially a solvent) and let it set for 5-10 min.
3. Rinse the filter using tap water to clean the filter.
4. Allow the filter to air dry.(DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR)
5. Spray the dry, cleaned filter with air filter oil that is supplied in the K&N Recharge kit. Be sure to spray the oil evenly to coat the entire filter.
6. Install the filter on your car and your ready to go!
